Good Afternoon USATF Florida Association,

I pray all is well with each and every one of you. Here are a few important reminders and updates. If you haven't registered for the Florida Association Annual meeting to be held in Tampa on August 24, 2024 please register at your earliest convenience. This is a reminder to all Officials, You must be 3 step compliant in order to have your certification valid. Please make sure your membership, background and safe sport are current. We currently have 140 Officials whose certification has lapsed for 1 or 2 of the reasons mentioned. If you have any questions or need help bringing your certification current please reach out to me and I will be happy to assist you.

The new recertification rules review will be available on October 1, 2024. For upgrade information please see attached forms. Any new upgrade request for National and Master Officials will be processed after October 1 when the new test will be available.

Reminder the deadline for the World Master Indoor Championship that will be held in Gainesville, FL March 23-30, 2025 is August 15, 2024. Click here for additional meets that are in need of officials.  https://www.usatf.org/programs/officials/meets-needing-officials
NCAA Registration portal is now open. You will need to register on RefQuest in order to register. https://plus.refquest.com/registration

It's that time again to make nominations for these awards. Please consider nominating a Official from the Florida Association for these Awards. The deadline is August 31, 2024. I'm asking everyone to please send me your nominee information by August 21, 2024. You can click on the link for the criteria.

Andy Bakjian Award - Outstanding Service
Charles Ruter Award - Outstanding Running Event Official
Horace Crow Award - Outstanding Field Event Official
Lori Maynard Award - Outstanding Racewalk Official
James Grey Award - Outstanding Leadership
John Davis Award - Outstanding Humanitarian

If you know of an Official that has gone above and beyond this season to receive the National Outstanding Officials Award please let me know. Please be mindful this award can only be awarded to an Official 1 time during an Olympiad period. If they have received it this Olympiad they aren't eligible to receive it again until the next Olympiad period. Here are the Officials who has been awarded during this Olympiad.
