Member clubs are at the heart of USA Track & Field. They provide much needed support to athletes in the form of coaching, financial support, and athletic satisfaction. It is with and through the clubs that USATF is able to carry out its mission "to foster sustained competitive excellence, interest, and participation in the sports of track and field, long distance running, and race walking." The focus and goals of each club are as unique and diverse as the athletes who compete for them. Some clubs focus primarily on elite development, while others specialize in youth or masters programs. Some are solely track and field clubs, while others provide support to only race walkers, throwers, or distance runners. Whatever the case may be, each club is vital to the sport's future in the United States. Over the past several years, USATF has initiated national club championships in cross country and track and field, and has recently added a marathon relay championship. These national club championships provide clubs a chance to showcase their talents and earn national bragging rights.

The United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) requires that all Olympic National Governing Bodies (NGBs) institute the SafeSport Program in 2015. All Youth Club Coaches and Volunteers will need to complete the SafeSport Program Requirements before your club’s membership will be approved and activated in the USATF system for 2016 and beyond. There will be no exceptions to this rule.
Certain USATF meets require that event registrants be date-of-birth verified. Video: How to add athlete verification documents At this time, only the National Office can process age verification documents. The Florida Association cannot do anything to expedite the process. The National office processes the age verifications on a first-come, first-served basis. Age verification is a manual process and is not "instant". See below for information about "Contacting the National Office".
Use USATF Connect to change your membership club affiliation to another club or to unattached. Here's how to initiate a transfer: When viewing the member's profile in USATF Connect, choose Memberships to view the membership information. Under the Actions menu there is a "Transfers" option. From there, use "Start Transfer" to begin the process. At this time, only the National Office can process transfer requests. See below for information about "Contacting the National Office". These requests must come directly from the member, or in the case of a youth member, the parent. When adding a new membership you have the ability to select the club affiliation. But, for existing memberships, only the National Office can change an existing club affiliation. Per "Regulation 4 - Representation" of the USATF Governance Handbook ... "To transfer representation from one club/organization to another, an athlete must not have competed for the first club in sanctioned competition for the previous ninety (90) days regardless of residency." There are some exceptions noted in the regulation. For additional details, see Affiliation Update Requests.
Use USATF Connect to change your Association, e.g. to Florida from another Association. In the member profile, use the "Transfer Request" option to add an Adult or Youth transfer request. Video: How to request an Association transfer For additional details, see Affiliation Update Requests.
If you have questions regarding age verification, club affiliation transfers, or any other items that need to be resolved by the National office, you can send email to membership@usatf.org. The most efficient way to track and resolve your question is to submit a ZenDesk "ticket" using usatf.zendesk.com. We suggest you use the "Sign In" option at the top right of the Zendesk page to associate your ticket with an account you create. This provides the ability to view your history of support tickets. Create a ticket with "USATF Assistance" in the drop down for "Please choose the appropriate form for your request". Note that the USATF Connect portal has a "Help & Support" option at the bottom of each page with a "Contact Support" link. This link is not as useful as the Zendesk option since the support request initiated in this way does not go directly to the USATF National office. Review this 4-minute video on how to submit a ticket on ZenDesk.
