USATF Region 4 Junior Olympic Cross-Country Championships Holloway Park

On November 18, 2023, USATF Florida Hosted the Region 4 Junior Olympic Cross Country Championship At Holloway Park in Lakeland Florida. The first of 10 races went off right on time at 8 Am. Distances contested were 5k,4k,3k, and 2k Ages 9 and under to 18 were on site to compete against athletes from Florida Georgia, and South Carolina.

There were 400 athletes who declared to run and the top 30 individuals in each race and the top 5 teams qualified for the Junior Olympic Championship. The awards were given to the top 30 finishers in each race and the top 5 Teams.

The staff of our meet which consisted of Bill Leavey, Joe Munks, Anthony Summerville, and myself successfully put on a very smooth meet which received many compliments, especially from Mt Pleasant who told our region coordinator it was one of the best meets she has attended.
