USATF FLORIDA CERTIFICATION CHAIR JANUARY NEWSLETTER
HAPPY NEW YEAR USATF Florida Association!!!
I Would like to take a moment to recognize Rod Larsen he received the Lori Maynard top 5 finalist award, Pam Navarra who received the top 5 finalist John Davis Award, Regina Smith received the award on behalf of our Youth program for the dedication and Service to USATF Athletes, and Sonja Friend-Uhl was recognized for her outstanding achievements in the W35-50 Athlete Middle Distance division.

Congratulations to the Florida Association Officials who were selected for the 2025 USATF Indoor, USATF Outdoor, and USATF U20 Meets. Brint Adams, Bill Leavy, JJ Meadows, Joe Monks, Doreen Small Mercer and Monica Snead.
Recertification is now underway for the new Olympiad 2025-2028 Season. All certified Officials should have this completed by March 31, 2025 at the latest.
Things to remember to do before your recertification can be processed. For those of you who have already completed these steps, Thank you. Please remember to add your resume, If you are missing certain events on your badge it can be added during this time. Officials who were certified for the first time during 2024 will not have to recertify but you will need to make sure your membership, safe sport and background is current and all fees are paid.
Officials who would like to upgrade please send your upgrade application, resume, letters of recommendation and test questions (National/Masters) all at one time. You must meet the requirements listed in the USATF upgrade criteria before submitting the application.

Background Screening https://www.usatf.org/safe-sport/background-screening Must be completed every 2 years. Rules Reviews https://noc.mach2k.net/#rules
If you are currently certified in any Specialty field e.g. Implements, LDR, Racewalk and Combined events etc. You may complete those additional reviews using the link provided above.
Master Officials must complete 8 questions and National 5 questions with 1 being a Starter question for the new Olympiad season. There are 29 questions to choose from. Code of Ethics & Performance Guidelines Association Training: This is recommended for ALL seeking to be upgraded. These can include any of the Zoom links and in person training posted by the Certification Chair or any record of attendance from a USATF Training website or Association with proof of attendance.
