Leah Mitchem

Leah is a Social Worker by trade and a runner at heart.  Her first road race was in 2016 and her love for the game continues to grow. This distance runner only ran her first track race in January 2024 after wrapping up a marathon training segment.

" I never thought of myself as a sprinter, but my coach wanted me to run the mile to switch gears get some experience. The minute I laced up a pair of spikes I didn't want to take them off".   

Leah is a brand-new USATF member and excited to participate in the USATF FL Association Masters Track & Field Championships in the 45-49yr. age bracket. 

"I've trained hard for this and life is short. I'm coming to Broward to tap into my best self and vie with the best in the Sunshine State"!
