Paralympian Scott Winkler receives Award from USATF Florida Para Committee
Paralympian Scott Winkler served in the US Army and was injured in Iraq in 2003.
He earned a Gold medal and set record in Shot Put at Para Pan Games in 2007.
Now in 2022 Scott has continued to grow his track and field team at Harlem High school in Georgia. He is the coach there and mentors typical as well as para athletes in throws.
This year Scott and his wife Brandi became USATF Apprentice Officials and choose Florida as their association. They have worked many meets already including Warriors Games in Orlando as lead for shot put throws.
Scott has always answered the call to mentor athletes by holding Throws Clinics, coaching, etc. to further this great sport.
Pam Navarra would like to recognize Scott Winkler as outstanding athlete/coach/mentor from the USATF Florida Para Committee.
Thank you Scott!!
