FLORIDA PRESIDENT'S STATE OF ASSOCIATION ADDRESS
Florida President's State of Association Address
Greetings Everyone!!
The Florida Association is on the move.
You ask, how so, well we are working to develop a
Climate Of Inclusion
.
This year, we used ZOOM media to host two Association-Wide meetings to update members on issues we are working on. To get feedback and provide direction on our next steps. One such major step was to solicit input from members on the proposed Association By-Law changes that will be discussed and voted on in the upcoming August Annual Meeting. Special thanks to Pam & Randy Chiavaroli for their leadership and team members Joey Chiavaroli, John Sales and Rod Larson for there contributions. Your attendance at the annual meeting is encouraged and will be greatly appreciated as vote to adopt the proposed by-laws.
John Sales, took the initiative on behalf of the Association, to file for and receive the Growth To Impact Grant. Funds are being used to promote membership growrh.
Another such step was to solicit input from Association Members on the development of a standardize pay scale for Officials. After much debate and the leadership of our Certification Chair Monica Snead and team members Lionel Bonck, Melinda Johnson, Bill Leavy, for moving the Association in a positive direction on pay scale standards. At the Annual Association meeting, members will have an opportunity to discuss and expand the pay scale as needed.
Also, Association Staff worked very hard to organize and run the USATF/FL Association Open/Masters Track & Field Championships. Special thanks to Andrea Collier, Doreen-Small Mercer, Malcolm Jackson and LeVera Morris. Also, to those who work delegently to host the Youth Jr. Olympic Qualifier. Special thanks to Gary Evans, Jim Williams, Gerda Milfort and Ellis Daniely. Also, to the many officials that stepped up to make themselves available to staff both meets. We thank you!
Inclusion: Team work, makes the vision work!
