2016 USATF Future Stars Meets to take place from coast to coast

INDIANAPOLIS -- IAAF Council Member and USATF President Stephanie Hightower has been appointed by IAAF President Sebastian Coe to serve as chair of the IAAF Conflict Resolution Advisory Group.

PORTLAND, Oregon -- Team USA’s record-setting performance at the 2016 World Indoor Championships included several historically notable performances.
PORTLAND, Oregon -- Home-field advantage paid off in a huge way for Team USA Sunday at the IAAF World Indoor Championships. With eight medals on the day, Team USA broke its own championship record for number of medals won, with 23, and number of golds, with 13. The medal tally crushed the previous records of 19 medals overall from 1999, and 10 gold medals from 2012. Ethiopia finished second in the medal tables with five medals and two gold, as Team USA totaled 249 points on the placing table to Ethiopia’s 56.
PORTLAND, Oregon -- Two-time defending champion Ashton Eaton (Bend, Oregon) inched closer to his third World Indoor title, while four American women and the U.S. men’s 4x400m relay dominated the heats to highlight Saturday morning action at the IAAF World Indoor Championships.
PORTLAND, Oregon -- With five medals coming in the span of five minutes, Team USA won a total of eight medals Saturday night at the IAAF World Indoor Championships, including an American record by Michelle Carter. With one day of competition remaining at the Oregon Convention Center, Team USA has 15 medals, including eight gold in 17 events contested thus far. Germany, Ukraine and Great Britain each have three medals, with nine other countries each having one gold. Team USA leads the placing table with 159 points; Great Britain is second with 29.
PORTLAND, Oregon -- Homestate hero Ashton Eaton (Bend, Oregon) began his two-time title defense Friday, leading the men’s heptathlon through two events with 2,032 points, just 28 points off of his world record pace.
PORTLAND, Oregon -- Americans had another big medal haul Friday night at the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships, winning three gold medals and one silver. After two days of competition, Team USA leads the medal table with seven medals, winning four of the seven final events contested thus far.
