SAN SALVADOR, EL SALVADOR -- Led by seven golds Friday, Team USA won 17 medals on the first day of action at the 2016 North American Central American Caribbean U-23 Championships at Estadio Nacional Jorge "El Mágico" Gonzalez in San Salvador.
INDIANAPOLIS — Eighty athletes have been named to the team that will represent the United States at the 2016 IAAF World U20 Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland, from July 19-24.
GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan -- The second day of the USATF Masters Outdoor Championships brought great performances, including several current records, both on the track and in the field events. Among the performances, Allen Woodard, Roger Busch and Joy Upshaw succeeded in their respective events.
INDIANAPOLIS -- Bernard Lagat earns USATF Athlete of the Week after making his fifth Olympic team at 41 years old, making him the most experienced U.S. Olympian in a running event. Lagat (Tucson, Arizona) captured his second Olympic Trials 5,000m victory on Saturday, July 9.

The three-day track and field event brings premier youth athletes from around the globe to gather at Estadio Nacional Jorge "El Mágico" Gonzalez.
INDIANAPOLIS -- The IAAF has extended Olympic Games invitations to the top three finishers in the men’s hammer throw at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, held last week in Eugene. Rudy Winkler (Sand Lake, New York), Kibwe Johnson (Suwanee, Georgia) and Conor McCullough (Canoga Park, California) have been added to the 2016 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Team set to represent Team USA in Rio.
GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN -- The 2016 USATF Masters Outdoor Championships got off to a hot start on Thursday, with several listed National Masters records falling on the first day of competition. With over 1,000 Masters athletes competing in the event, including a field of 40 current World champions and several Olympians, the opening day of competition set the pace for the championship weekend.
INDIANAPOLIS -- Five reigning Olympic gold medalists and five current world champions join 86 first-time Olympians on the Team USA roster nominated to the 2016 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Team. A roster of 129 men and women is slated to represent the United States in track & field competition August 12-21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The nation’s best will be competing at the USATF Masters Championships at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI, Thursday through Sunday, July 14-17. Forty current world champions and approximately 100 defending USATF champions are among 1018 athletes who will take part in 2560 events, including 104 participants from Michigan in 187 events, with many Grand Rapids area stars.
Every four years, the Olympic Trials act as the gateway to the Games. Athletes can springboard toward history-making performances the following month.
