RIO DE JANEIRO - With by far the largest single team of any federation or sport at the 2016 Olympic Games, Team USA will look to find its fortunes on the track and in the field when competition begins at Olympic Stadium on Friday, August 12.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Chantae McMillan is no stranger to international competition, competing in the 2012 London Olympic Games and most recently, the 2016 Thorpe Cup. Last weekend, the 2012 Olympian struck gold at the Thorpe Cup competition against Germany, as she blew away the heptathlon competition to a new meet record of 6,260 points and her first USATF Athlete of the Week honor.

A medley of events finished with new national records and a slew of first-time champions on Saturday at USATF Junior Olympic Championships.
INDIANAPOLIS -- Michael Hartfield (Manchester, Connecticut) has replaced Marquis Dendy (Middletown, Delaware) on the 2016 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Team in the men's long jump, USATF announced Friday. Dendy, the 2016 World Indoor gold medalist, has withdrawn from the Rio-bound Olympic team with an injury to his lower right leg.
Adding two centimeters to the national youth record set in 2008 by Natalie Willer of the Cornhusker Flyers, Alina McDonald (Pacolet, South Carolina; USATF South Carolina) won the women’s 17-18 pole vault with her clearance at 4.23m/13-10.5.
