PHILADELPHIA - Team USA is bringing together an all-star lineup with the likes of Bernard Lagat, Nick Symmonds and Leo Manzano to lead the hunt for a win in the Nike men’s Distance Medley Relay in what is shaping up to be on of the most competitive events of the 12th edition of USA vs. the World at the 117th Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa., at Franklin Field this Saturday.
INDIANAPOLIS - Masters athlete and noted jazz musician Nolan Shaheed has been named USA Track & Field’s Athlete of the Week after he broke his own world record in the M60 800 meter race in 2:08.56 Saturday in Los Angeles.

Last year, the boys of Catholic High School’s track team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana knew the drill when Coach Pete Boudreaux prescribed a day of supplemental training. They pulled out the tires, ropes and homemade belts from storage, strapped them on, and sprinted across the fields to build their strength and power. Fast forward to the 2011 track season, where the same boys are using top-of-the-line strength training equipment from Gill Athletics, and it is easy to see why Boudreaux compared the delivery of new equipment to Christmas morning.
