1. Longtime USATF Official Charles Ruter dies
INDIANAPOLIS – The most celebrated sprint rivalry in women’s track and field kicks off in the 2012 Olympic year when American Allyson Felix and Jamaican Veronica Campbell-Brown run the 60 meters this Saturday at the USA Track & Field Classic in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
BOSTON – After failing to clear a height in the women’s pole vault last weekend at the U.S. Open, Jenn Suhr made the most of her opportunities at the New Balance Grand Prix Saturday night. On the second stop of USATF’s Indoor Visa Championship Series, Suhr bettered her own existing American record with a winning height of 4.88m/16-0 to highlight events at the Reggie Lewis Center.

A program to take place for kids during and after school, RWUS! surrounds fitness and goal setting to promote self-esteem and will be directed by Olympic athletes as teachers, mentors and role models. Foundation Executive Director Tom Jackovic and Chairman Bob Greifeld made the announcement Wednesday.
2000 Team USA Olympic Games assistant coach and long-time University of Colorado and West Point track and field and cross country coach Jerry Quiller died Thursday after a five-year battle with multiple myeloma. He was 69.
