BARCELONA, Spain – The 1992 U.S. Olympic Team was heralded as one of the best American squads of all-time with 32 medals in tow from a memorable time in Barcelona. The 2012 U.S. team that competed in Barcelona at the IAAF World Junior Championships will go into the history books as one of the best American squads under the age of 20. With 20 medals, and an all-time record 188 points, the junior team captured some magic that was left from the Olympic team of 20 years ago.

BARCELONA, Spain – For the fifth time in the history of the IAAF World Junior Championships, the United States has swept gold in the 4x100 relay. All-in-all, the two golds were part of a three-medal day for Team USA at Montjüic Olympic Stadium in Barcelona. With one day remaining, this U.S. junior squad has already topped the total World Championships medals won in 2010 in Moncton (15) and are on top of the medal count with 16.

BARCELONA, Spain – The morning session of day four at the IAAF World Junior Championships went well for Team USA at Olympic Stadium in Barcelona. Eight advanced on to a further round and Kendell Williams sits in fourth place after five events in the women’s heptathlon.
BARCELONA, Spain – Team USA stole the show, winning seven medals with two golds, on the fourth evening of competition at the IAAF World Junior Championships in Barcelona, Spain. Friday the 13th was not unlucky for the U.S. junior squad at Montjuïc Olympic Stadium as today’s medal haul brought the total to the overall leading count of 13. World Junior titles were claimed on the evening by Eric Futch in the men’s 400 meter hurdles and Ashley Spencer in the women’s 400. Spencer grabbed the gold with a World Junior Championships record time of 50.50.

BARCELONA, Spain – Nine from the U.S. National Team at the IAAF World Junior Championships advanced from their rounds of competition to the next level on Thursday morning at Barcelona’s Olympic Stadium. The men’s and women’s 200 meters were a great success for the Americans as the squad went four-for-four in the event’s first round, winning in each heat entered. Eric Futch (Lansdowne, Pa.) cashed a ticket to the finals in the men’s 400 meter hurdles, the U.S. women gained three qualifying spots in the field, and 17-year-old Kendell Williams (Marietta, Ga.) leads the heptathlon after the two primo events – the 100 hurdles and high jump.
BARCELONA, Spain – Three medals, including the squad’s second gold, plus a new American junior record – all in a day’s work for Team USA at the World Junior Championships in Barcelona. High school senior Ajee Wilson (Neptune, N.J.) claimed the gold medal in the women’s 800 meters with the best time by an American junior since 1982 – 2:00.91. Two more outgoing high schoolers Arman Hall and Aldrich Bailey grabbed silver and bronze in the men’s 400. And, Brianna Nerud ran another huge personal best (10:00.72) to finish fifth in the steeplechase, resetting the American junior record along with toppling the high school record for a second time in these championships.
