BALTIMORE, Md. - Avana Story bettered the National Junior Olympic record in the Young Womens hammer throw while Jaiden Woodbey defended his title in the Midget Boys pentathlon as the USA Track & Field National Junior Olympic Championships kicked off at W.A.C. Hughes Stadium on the campus of Morgan State University.
BIRMINGHAM - Jeff Demps (Winter Garden, Fla.) has been added to Team USA’s roster for the London 2012 Olympic Games as a member of the 4x100m relay pool. Demps will serve as a replacement for Mike Rodgers (Round Rock, Texas) who suffered a stress fracture in his left foot.

For the third year in a row, the Burning River 100 Mile Endurance Run will host the USA 100 Mile Trail Championships Saturday and Sunday, July 28-29, in Northeast Ohio.
Two-time Olympic silver medalist, former world record holder and National Track & Field Hall of Famer Jack Davis died peacefully Saturday at Mercy Hospital in San Diego, Calif. He was 81 years old.
Team USA members Joseph Gray and Brandy Erholtz each captured the men’s and women’s individual titles, respectively, as Team USA won the women’s team title over host Canada at the North America Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) Mountain Running Championships at Cypress Mountain in West Vancouver Saturday.
