Facing chilly early morning temperatures in Minneapolis, Minn., Janet Cherobon-Bawcom and Mohamed Trafeh each defended their titles in the USA 10 Mile Championships Sunday, which was run as part of the TC Medtronic 10 Mile.

Johanna Olson simply needed a goal. She needed something to look forward to. Without it, the next 12 months were going to be as excruciating as anything she had seen in her 15-year battle with a devastating and recurrent brain tumor.

After a remarkable masters track and field season that included three world championship titles and a total of five world records, sprinter Robert Lida (M75) will be the men’s recipient of the 2012 Best Masters of the World award, which will be presented at the IAAF Century Gala November 23-24 in Barcelona, Spain.
