Three-time London Olympic gold medalist Allyson Felix was given the IAAF’s top annual honor Friday when she was named the organization’s Athlete of the Year. Felix was honored at the Athletes of the Year Awards Ceremony in Barcelona, Spain, as U.S. athletes also picked up year-end awards from Aries Merritt (Inspirational Award), the London Olympic women’s 4x100-meter relay team (Female Performer of the Year) and Robert Lida (Male Master of the Year) Friday.

Daprano (Fayetteville, Ga.) will be honored at the Jesse Owens Hall of Fame Banquet on Saturday, December 1, which is held in conjunction with the USATF Annual Meeting in Daytona Beach, Fla.
In a career that has seen her hold the world record, a world championship and an Olympic silver medal, Kim Batten ranks her upcoming induction in the National Track & Field Hall of Fame among the top honors in her career. As a member of the next hall of fame class, Batten will be honored as a modern athlete inductee during the Jesse Owens Hall of Fame Banquet December 1.
