GREENSBORO, N.C. — Sydney Harris (Dacula, Ga.) displayed a monumental feat of endurance setting two national and Junior Olympic records, which highlighted the sixth day of competition at the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University.
Chelsea Carrier-Eades and Kiana Profit helped Team USA to a big first day lead and currently sit as the top two individual scores in the women’s heptathlon as day one of the 20th Thorpe Cup kicked off Saturday at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. Team USA men, behind Gray Horn’s first day total of 4124, currently trail Germany in the men’s decathlon. Competition concludes Sunday.

Vincent is a gifted athlete. Her talents stretch beyond the oval to the basketball court. Starting as a sophomore for the high school basketball team that won a state title the year before, she lived the dream. Or so she thought.
