INDIANAPOLIS -- Two-time Olympic Champion Christian Taylor earns USATF Athlete of the Week following one of the greatest triple jump performances in track & field history at the Nike Prefontaine Classic on Saturday, May 27.
EUGENE, Oregon -- 2012 and 2016 Olympic gold and silver medalists Christian Taylor and Will Claye took to the triple jump runway once again to put on a show for the Hayward Field faithful Saturday at the Nike Prefontaine Classic. The duo registered two of the greatest jumps in track & field history and led an impressive weekend that saw four Hayward Field and Nike Prefontaine Classic records broken.
EUGENE, Oregon -- 2016 Olympic silver medalist Brittney Reese and 2017 USATF Indoor 1000m champion Charlene Lipsey came away with victories Friday on Joan Benoit Samuelson Night at the Nike Prefontaine Classic.
INDIANAPOLIS -- Reigning World Champion in the shot put Joe Kovacs (Bethlehem, Pennsylvania) astounded the competition at last week’s Tucson Elite Classic, improving on his PR with the world’s best throw since 2003.
LOS ANGELES -- An epic early-season battle between training partners and Olympic champions Matthew Centrowitz and Mo Farah, as well as a stunner of a performance from Rio Olympian Brenda Martinez were the stories of the night at the 2017 USATF Distance Classic at Occidental College in Los Angeles, California. All told, 12 U.S. athletes met IAAF World Outdoor Championships standards and 34 athletes met qualifying marks for the 2017 USATF Outdoor Championships in June.
LOS ANGELES -- Rio Olympic medalists Matthew Centrowitz, Jenny Simpson and Great Britain’s Mo Farah headline stacked fields set for Thursday at the 2017 USATF Distance Classic at Jack Kemp Stadium on the campus of Occidental College. Gates open at 5 p.m. PT with coverage starting on NBC Sports Gold (U.S.) and RunnerSpace (international) at 6 p.m. PT. Tickets are available at the gate for $10 for adults and $5 for students and USATF members.
