The reigning 2013 and two-time USA Outdoor heptathlon champion Sharon Day-Monroe (Los Angeles, California) made three times her charm during a landmark 2014 indoor season. Day-Monroe set a new American pentathlon record at USA Indoors with 4,805 points, and she went on to compete for Team USA at IAAF World Indoors, where she finished fourth. Among the top decathlon contenders is Olympic silver medalist Trey Hardee (Austin, Texas), a two-time World Outdoor gold medalist looking to emerge from a tough 2013 season.
