80 year old Masters athlete Florence Meiler has been named USATF’s Athlete of the Week after her impressive 14 event weekend; as she had broke several records at USATF Masters Outdoor Championships at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
INDIANAPOLIS – Coming off her American 5,000m record of 14:42.64 a week ago in Monaco, Molly Huddle looks to take home another national championship Saturday at the USA 7 Mile Championships in Davenport, Iowa, hosted by the Quad-City Times Bix 7.
EUGENE -- Team USA has five more athletes advancing to semis or finals after the morning session of IAAF World Junior Championships at Hayward Field on cold and rainy Wednesday.
Records were broken in multiple events and age groups and with fast times, far leaps, and massive throws, athletes of all ages showed off their athletic prowess at Day 3 of the USATF National Junior Olympics at Turner Stadium on the campus of Humble High School.
Nick Anderson, 110m Hurdles “My race went well. I go all the jitters out, all the nerves, and I was able to come out here and get a good start this time, which I was really happy about. I was able to close pretty well, and get that second position in the semifinal.My goal was to get in the top-two, which I did.”
American athletes won gold, silver and bronze in the 100 meters on the evening of Day Two at IAAF World Junior Championships at Hayward FIeld.
