LONDON -- Team USATF made a splash by having its biggest distance-running medal haul in generations at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. But nothing, it seems, prepared the track world for the stunning 1-2 finish in the women’s steeplechase by Emma Coburn and Courtney Frerichs Friday night at the IAAF World Championships in London.
LONDON -- A pair of 1-2 finishes highlighted by a see-saw battle in the men’s triple jump gave Team USATF four medals Thursday evening at Queen Elizabeth Stadium, bringing the total to six golds and 19 medals after seven days of competition.
LONDON -- A 1-3 finish by Phyllis Francis and Allyson Felix, combined with bronze medals from Rio Olympic champions Michelle Carter and Kerron Clement in cold, rainy and breezy conditions, gave Team USATF a four-medal evening and 15 medals thus far at the World Championships Wednesday night at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Stadium.
PREMANA, Italy -- Team USATF secured two team silver medals and an individual silver at this year’s 14th World Long Distance Mountain Running Championships in Premana, Italy.
LONDON -- Sam Kendricks went from Olympic silver medalist to World Championships gold medalist Tuesday evening, winning the men’s pole vault at Queen Elizabeth Stadium to close out competition for the night. With a bronze medal from Evan Jager in the steeplechase - the first medal by an American in that discipline - Team USATF brought its medal tally to 11 through five days of competition.
LONDON -- With another astounding stretch run, Jenny Simpson earned her fourth global medal in the women’s 1,500 meters Monday night at Queen Elizabeth Stadium. Going from fourth to second by zipping down the inside rail in the final meters, the 2011 world champion, 2013 silver medalist and 2016 Olympic bronze medalist claimed the silver medal at the IAAF World Championships, further establishing her as one of the most brilliant and consistent championship runners of her era.
LONDON -- Some of Team USATF’s most seasoned medalists, including Allyson Felix, Aries Merritt, Evan Jager, Kerron Clement and Sam Kendricks, moved through qualifying rounds Sunday morning at the IAAF World Championships at Queen Elizabeth Stadium.
LONDON -- Two-time Olympian Amy Cragg made history Sunday coming across Tower Bridge Sunday, storming over the final 800m to win bronze in the women’s marathon, becoming the first American woman to capture a marathon medal at the IAAF World Championships since Marianne Dickerson in 1983.
LONDON -- With a furious finish and a lean for the ages, Tori Bowie upgraded her 2016 Olympic silver medal to World Championship gold Sunday night in the women’s 100 meters, tumbling through the finish line for a history-making win for Team USATF at Queen Elizabeth Stadium.
TORONTO, Ontario – The World Masters Athletics North and Central America and Caribbean Regional Masters Athletic Championships (NCCWMA) in Toronto, Canada August 11-13 are drawing 385 from Team USATF among nearly 1000 total athletes.
