LYON, France -- In the first week of the World Masters Athletics Championships (WMA) ongoing in Lyon, France, the USA team has won 24 golds to date and broken four world masters records and tied another. The team has amassed 62 medals overall. The meet began August 4 and ends August 16. Over 8,000 track and field athletes are competing, ages 35-99, and the US has 426.

As the national governing body, USATF has the responsibility to support track & field on all levels, including youth programs, masters programs, event sanctioning, road racing, race walking, officials certification, coaches education and certification, Paralympics, national teams and elite athletes.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Five reigning world champions will lead Team USA into Beijing, as 130 athletes are slated to represent the stars and stripes at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China, USATF announced today. The IAAF World Championships take place August 22-30, 2015, at Beijing National Stadium. Affectionately known as the “Bird’s Nest,” Beijing National Stadium was the main stadium of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and seats 91,000 fans.
