The USATF Florida Men’s Women’s and Masters Meet is dedicated to athletes running their best to qualify for the upcoming regional meet. This meet was held this past weekend, with many in attendance at Calvary Christian Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on what felt like the hottest day of the summer. Some athletes running in the competition were trying to reach Olympic Trials standards for their country in order to try and take the next step towards the Olympic Games in Rio. Besides some hopefuls trying to make the U.S. team, there were athletes competing for their other respective countries like Ghana, the Bahamas, Haiti and more
On June 21, at our New Balance Nationals Outdoor in Greensboro, Miami Northwestern head coach Carmen Jackson received the 2015 Mike Byrnes Outdoor Coach of the Year award. This story appeared in the meet program, but not on our website until now. Congratulations, Coach!
