The USATF Florida Men’s Women’s and Masters Meet is dedicated to athletes running their best to qualify for the upcoming regional meet. This meet was held this past weekend, with many in attendance at Calvary Christian Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on what felt like the hottest day of the summer. Some athletes running in the competition were trying to reach Olympic Trials standards for their country in order to try and take the next step towards the Olympic Games in Rio. Besides some hopefuls trying to make the U.S. team, there were athletes competing for their other respective countries like Ghana, the Bahamas, Haiti and more

That wasn’t an issue at the OUC Orlando Half Marathon on Saturday, December 6 as some of Florida’s fastest competed for bragging rights at the USA Track & Field Florida Association Half Marathon Championship.
Capping a perfect season of 19 consecutive victories, Justin Gatlin earns USATF Athlete of the Week after claiming a pair of first-place finishes Sept. 5 at the Diamond League meeting in Brussels and winning his final race of the outdoor season on Sept. 7 in Reiti, Italy.
